It was good to be able to fully lie flat out on a bed. Having said that I had a disturbed sleep waking up a number of times during the night. Still trying to adjust to the different times.

We had a lovely breakfast at 7 am, a great omelette. Checked out at 8 am and walked to the airport. Found the business lounge and had an hour wait before we need to go to the departure lounge. The flight was delayed by an hour. It was a smooth flight and we were in row 2. The airport at Frankfurt was vast and unbelievably busy!

The flight into Dubrovnik was very picturesque. The airport was quite small and felt like a regional airport. We get off the flight and are bussed to the terminal. Retrieve luggage smoothly, no customs or immigration and we walk out to greet our driver. It was a 40 minute drive from the airport and quite a pleasant but busy drive. We are dropped off just outside the city and given directions to get to our accommodation. It is not far but as usual we get confused. I think we are in the right area, but unsure where we go. Karen goes into a shop to ask directions, the lady takes us around the corner and we are there. We are above her shop!

It is a great location but there are 4 sets of steep stairs. We have the “top” room, an attic with sloping roof. There are no doors on any of the rooms just floors/landings  off the stairs.

It is a nice day, some cloud and around 22 degrees. We meet up with Karmen our guide for an introduction to Dubrovnik. She was great! Very informative, full of suggestions and recommendations and took us round the old town, where we are staying. We had a good 2 hrs 15 mins with her and it was well worth the price.

Tomorrow we have a Game of Thrones tour from 9 am.  We end up having beer and pizzas back at the apartment tonight.
