The Day has arrived

At the moment it is 5.45 pm and we are packed and ready. We have a pick up arranged for 7.45 pm. It has been a long day waiting to head off and we are eager to go. We have checked and rechecked and hopefully have everything in place.

Our driver arrived on time and we were on the way by 8.50. He took us a different way and not along eastlink. He went via the mordialloc and dingley bypass, then up Warrigal road to the Monash. As we approached the turn off to the airport the traffic was backed up. He then went back onto the freeway and took off past the airport. We went past the end of the runway and then turned back at a roundabout. We came in the back way but we had to stop at the valet pickup and then walk 200 metres to the terminal. Apparently Uber drivers were taking industrial action, but despite all this we arrived at 9 pm.

We checked in and then met up with the Luggs and Johnstones who were dining at Maccas. The airport was busy but we traversed through security and passport check easily. We and John and Kaye were in the business class lounge by 9.40 pm with boarding not until 11 pm. Just relaxing with a Heineken and Ann with a gin and tonic. It’s a hard life!

I had a good nights sleep. Went to bed at 7.30 pm. Everything goes well walking to the airport although it is still blowing and a very cold...
