We have breakfast at 8 am but we will get up earlier as some food items were in short supply. It was great to sleep on a proper bed in a bedroom with a door. It was a bit noisy with the aircon but I have now found out how to turn it down. At 9 am we sailed away after our safety drill. We are going to stop around 11.30 so people can have a swim. The temperature is mid 20s, clear sunny skies and water temperature is 24 degrees. We have to sign a waiver to be able to swim!
The swim does not take place until after midday and lunch has been pushed back. We are provided with snorkel gear but no swim fins. Ross and I are going in, but Luggy did not pack his swimwear. The water was lovely and clear but not much fish around. I took some photos but I accidentally deleted them when trying to transfer them to the laptop. Hopefully I will get another chance. Back on board we have lunch and then set sail for Korcula a large island just off the coast. Once there we have a guided walk and we learn it is the actual birth place of Marco Polo and we are shown the house, somewhat restored, where he lived. Korcula is another walled city and its streets are designed to take advantage of the prevailing winds to assist with air conditioning and to take away the unsavoury smells.
Tonight we will be eating onshore.
